Collection: Adrian Underhill
Adrian Underhill soars into your heart with a soul-drenched tenor that is bound to grab your attention. Propelled by lopsided drumbeats and meteor-shower keys, Underhill’s choral constructions could fill the starlit dome of a space station chapel. Head-nodding lyrics and déjà vu melodies stick with you long after the last note has faded.
Underhill has never been afraid to change or evolve – moulting from one musical exoskeleton to the next, swimming forward, keeping the oxygen flowing. This Vancouverite-Montréalais-Torontonian has migrated from cello to guitar to keyboards, a choir boy turned rocker turned falsetto-slinging songwriter. Now as we round the corner into a brand-new year it seems like he is finding his true voice.
Over the long dark winter of 2012 Adrian Underhill's following quietly germinated and took root. Live shows in all three home cities followed, then festivals like Pop Montreal and Canadian Music Week. With one EP under his belt, titled Back Asleep (Did I Wake Up?), Underhill is now assembling the ingredients for his first full-length solo recording.
